Outer radiance doesn't just come from using healthy, all-natural skincare: it also comes from taking care of yourself from the inside out. Besides eating a balanced, healthy diet, one of my favorite ways to encourage healthy skin, hair, and nails is by drinking herbal infusions with plants that have an affinity for them.
Nettle is one of my absolute favorite plant allies. It gets a bad wrap outside the herbalism world because of it's stinging hairs that irritate the skin, leaving it itching for days. But when you harvest the plant, dry it, and infuse it in hot water, you end up with an herbal infusion that's rich in minerals and nutrients that feed your body.
I wanted to share my current Beauty Tea recipe, featuring nettles, so that you can start infusing your life with more herbs -- and "beautifying" your skin from the inside out.
Beauty Tea Infusion
In a 32 oz mason jar or French press, add 5 tablespoons of nettle, 5 tablespoons of red raspberry leaf, and 1 tablespoon of rose petals and/or 3-4 hibiscus flowers. Cover with hot, but not boiling, water. Let the blend steep for as short as 20 minutes and as long as overnight. Strain and drink throughout the day.
